A detailed view of your body composition

Some changes can’t be seen by standing on a conventional bathroom scale. The Tanita body composition scale RD-445 uses dual-frequency bring bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to separately measure differences in the user’s arms, legs and core. It determines 13 values to display one’s body composition including the exclusive “Muscle Quality Score™” which takes both muscle mass and quality into consideration. The higher the score, the denser the muscle fibres and more powerful the contraction force they can produce.

Results are available after only 15 seconds and are displayed directly on the integrated colour display. The RD-445 can save up to five user profiles and includes Athlete, Guest and Child modes for different fitness goals and body types.

Safety and other important information
- Do not use the body composition scale if you have an electronic medical implant (e.g. an artificial cardiac pacemaker). The device transmits a low-level electrical impulse throughout the body, and it could negatively affect the function of the implant.
- During pregnancy, only the weight function should be used. No other measurement functions are intended for use during pregnancy.
- The body composition scale is suitable for use by adults and children between the ages of 5 and 17 with a relatively sedentary to moderately active lifestyle.
- Athlete mode was developed using modern BIA technology and current sports science findings to provide more accurate measurement results for a wider user group.
Who is Athlete mode for?
Adults above the age of 18 who:
exercise at least 12 hours per week or have been regularly participating in sports for at least the last six months.
are bodybuilders.
are professional athletes who want to monitor their progress at home.
have many years of past athletic activity and used to train more than 12 hours per week but have become less active.
