The benefits of an ice bath

Ice baths are an established practise that many athletes and enthusiasts swear by to help with recovery and regeneration. The immersion in cold water may reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness and inflammation and accelerate recovery after intense workouts. Cold therapy encourages blood circulation and may support the immune system. It can be used as a test of will and mental fortitude – taking your first plunge already requires that you leave your comfort zone.

How top athletes cool down

Ice baths have gained popularity with athletes and fitness and wellness influencers: from marathon runners and basketball players to CrossFit. The attention has led to more people looking into cold- and cryotherapy or alternating between cold and hot in contrast bath therapy seeking physical and mental benefits or just enjoying the exhilaration.
